Anonymous asked:
I have a problem and it's making me upset. I want to go to community college because I want to take advantage of the benefits that it has, but my parents are completely against it because they feel that it would be an "embarrassment" for me. What would you do in that situation?

howtogrowthefuckup:

Step 1. Email my “Stop Shitting on Community College Kids" rant to your parents. Immediately.

Step 2. Smack them across the face.

Step 3. Explain to them how much money it would save them and how community colleges help build good communities.

Step 4. Tell your parents to check their privilege, get over themselves, and let you get on with your damn life by making your own decisions.

Best of luck, anon. I commend you. Meanwhile, I’m going to go off and scream because no one should ever be embarrassed of someone who wants to better themselves through education. You deserve a whole sky of gold stars.
